Gas Prices Drop In LA

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County continued its fall back toward the $4 mark today, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.009.

The 31st consecutive daily decline dropped the price to 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 28.2 cents lower than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

However, the average price is 94.6 cents higher than one year ago.

The average price was last under $4 on March 24 when it was $3.987.

Analysts credit the decreases to the declining cost of crude oil.
