Too sexy for 13 and 17? Elle and Dakota Fanning's controversial photo shoots

Teen acting whizzes Dakota and Elle Fanning are aged 17 and 13 respectively - so naturally, people are freaking out over the above images of the blonde sisters.

Dakota is the face of new Marc Jacobs fragrance Oh Lola - and the designer wanted his model to reference Lolita, the notorious story of an underaged girl who has a sexual relationship with her much older stepfather.

"When we were speaking about who to use in the ads, I had recently seen [Dakota in] The Runaways," Marc said.

"I knew she could be this contemporary Lolita, seductive yet sweet."

The 'Lolita' frilly dress/lollipop/pigtails theme has been referenced in pop culture many times since the novel became popular in the 50's - but is Marc's image of Dakota with the perfume bottle between her legs a bit much?

Meanwhile, Dakota's lil sis Elle has appeared in a fashion spread for Marie Claire magazine at the age of 13. Most of the photos from the shoot look fresh and pretty - bar one where Elle is wearing fishnets and another (above) where she dons a pair of hotpants.

"It would be sultry if it was a 29-year-old," commented gossip blog Celebitchy.

"Because it’s a 13-year-old, it’s bordering on 'too much.'"
