It's finally here...Opening weekend for one of the most-anticipated films in years! Brandon Routh stars in Superman Returns!
Brandon competed at IMTA in New York in 1999. Patrick Baca scouted him in Iowa and encouraged him to showcase his talent at the upcoming IMTA Convention. Brandon competed in Team, Runway and many other modeling and talent IMTA competitions. He impressed several agents, made contacts and relocated to Los Angeles. He signed with Kazarian/Spencer & Associates. His first roles were on 1999's Odd Man Out and MTV's nighttime soap Undressed in 2000. He was in Christina Aguilera’s video for What a Girl Wants. He also played the role of Seth Anderson on One Life to Live for a season. He guest-starred on a few more primtime popular shows but was a relative unknown which is what the director Bryan Singer was after.
Looks like Singer made the perfect choice. The reviews are rolling in and Brandon is widely praised for his role of a lifetime. Hollywood Reporter's review stated,"Newcomer Brandon Routh plays the Man of Steel with winning fortitude in this heartfelt sequel."
Tomorrow...we'll give you the inside scoop on how Clark Kent at fifteen was cast at an IMTA Convention! It's an all Superman Returns weekend on That IMTA Blog!
