Octo-Doc Begs To Keep Practicing Medicine

Octomom's doctor, Michael Kamrava, is now pleading with a judge to let him keep practicing medicine ... even though the state Medical Board has already ruled to strip his license.

In court documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court ... Doc Kamrava requests a stay of the Medical Board of California's decision earlier this month to revoke his license -- and says he intends to appeal that ruling.

Kamrava claims the Board exceeded its jurisdiction and violated his due process right to earn a living.

If the court doesn't step in Kamrava's license will be revoked on July 1.

Red-Light Camera Set to Expire

LA's red-light camera program is set to expire at the end of July after the city council considered a motion Tuesday that would have extended the program.

The proposal, presented by Councilmen Tony Cardenas and Bernard Parks, would have prolonged the program for one year on a month-to-month basis. The city's Police Commission voted earlier this month to end the red-light camera program contract with an Arizona-based company.

After a lengthy discussion Tuesday at City Hall, the council did not have the votes to overturn the commission's decision.

The council's Tuesday meeting came one day after the U.S. Conference of Mayors, which is led by LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, adopted a resolution to endorse red-light cameras as a safety tool.

Megan's mouth got her fired from 'Transformers'

Michael Bay says Steven Spielberg demanded he dismiss Megan Fox from the third "Transformers" film after she compared Bay to Hitler.

Bay tells GQ magazine in an article appearing in its July issue that Spielberg, who is an executive producer on the film, told the director to "fire her right now" after Fox made the Hitler remarks to a British magazine last year.

Fox told the magazine before production began on the third "Transformers" installment that Bay "wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is."

The 25-year-old actress was replaced by Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," which opens next week.

Paramount confirmed Tuesday that Bay made the comments to GQ but did not elaborate.

Ryan Dunn died from crash's impact, fire

PHILADELPHIA - A coroner's report says "Jackass" daredevil Ryan Dunn and his passenger died from the impact and resulting fire of a car crash in suburban Philadelphia.

The Chester County coroner Tuesday lists blunt force trauma and thermal trauma as the causes of death. Toxicology results will take four to six weeks to complete.

The 34-year-old Dunn and his 30-year-old passenger, Zachary Hartwell, were killed early Monday. Police say Dunn's Porsche might have been traveling as fast as 100 mph when it crashed.

West Goshen Township police declined to discuss the investigation.

Mourners are placing flowers at the scene of the crash in West Chester. Police say Dunn's car jumped a guardrail, flew into a wooded ravine, struck a tree and burst into flames.

Suspect in Stow beating ordered to serve time for parole violation

The man Los Angeles police have named as the prime suspect in a vicious assault on a San Francisco Giants fan at Dodger Stadium on opening day was ordered back to state prison Monday to serve 10 months for violating his parole.

Deputy Parole Commissioner Ali Zarrinnam ruled that there was sufficient cause to put Giovanni Ramirez, 31, back behind bars because he had access to a gun that had been placed in a laundry basket at the residence where he was staying.

The ruling buys time for the LAPD, which might otherwise have been forced to release Ramirez if it couldn't persuade the Los Angeles County district attorney's office to charge him in the Stow beating.

The LAPD has yet to present a formal case against Ramirez, who was arrested May 27.

Skateboarders expected to descend on L.A.

(LA Times) Thousands of skateboarders are expected to take to the streets of downtown Los Angeles this afternoon for a group skate in celebration of "Go Skateboarding Day," event organizers said.

Slated to begin at 1 p.m., the "Wild in the Streets" event starts at Hollenbeck Park just east of downtown.  After a five-mile ride along an undisclosed route, skaters are to end at Lafayette Park.

The route will be made public just prior to the ride, said Raluca State, a spokesperson for Emerica, a skate shoe manufacturer organizing the event.

Roads will not be closed for the event, State added.

This is the first time it is coming to Los Angeles. State said it will benefit Boards for Bros, a nonprofit group that collects and refurbishes skateboards to donate to children who cannot afford them.

KCET-TV Moving to Burbank

On Monday officials said the independent television station is headed to Burbank, moving to new headquarters at the Pointe, a 14-story office tower on Alameda Avenue.

The move follows KCET's announcement earlier this year that it had sold its current headquarters in Los Feliz to the Church of Scientology for a reported $42 million.

The station has struggled since splitting from Public Broadcasting Station earlier this year. Taking up 1½ floors at Pointe, KCET's new digs will measure 55,000 square feet, about half its current size.

At this point, no layoffs are planned as a result of the move. The station employs 125 people.

The station has been at its Sunset Boulevard site since 1970.

ICANN Opens Domain Naming

Move over, dot-com — get ready for dot-anything.

The group that governs Internet domain names is opening up the system so that companies and organizations can apply to create their own versions of .com, .org or .gov. Under the new rules, instead of a coke.com, Coca-Cola might control the domain .coke and assign Web addresses such as drink.coke or bottle.coke.

The Marina del Rey group known as ICANN called it "one of the biggest changes ever" to the way the Internet's naming system works. With the domain expansion, the group of 22 existing suffixes — many of which were established in the early 1980s — could quickly balloon to hundreds or thousands. ICANN said more recognizable addresses would allow Web users to find what they're looking for more quickly.

ICANN has been planning the naming expansion for much of the last decade. The group, which has been the steward of the Internet's naming system since 1998, said it would begin accepting applications in January.

Internet observers expect that the initial expansion might bring 500 new options for site suffixes, which are called generic top-level domain names (or gTLDs). There are only 22 now, including the original eight, (.com, .edu, .gov, .int., .mil, .net, .org and .arpa).

Since 2000, ICANN has added 14 top-level domains, including .biz, .info and .jobs. Few of the new names have caught on, with .com remaining the standard across many industries.

Still it can be difficult and expensive to find new .com names, with the most desirable long ago snapped up by companies, individuals and speculators who stockpile names in hopes of selling them to the highest bidder.

New graphic tobacco warning labels

Dead bodies, diseased lungs and a man on a ventilator were among the graphic images for revamped tobacco labels unveiled on Tuesday by U.S. health officials.

Proposed in November under a law that put the multibillion-dollar tobacco industry under the control of the Food and Drug Administration, the new labels must be on cigarette packages and in advertisements starting in October 2012.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg were to announce the nine new warnings at the White House, but the labels were released early Tuesday.  Click here.

They show images that may disturb some, including one titled "WARNING: Cigarettes are addictive," illustrated with a photograph of a man smoking a cigarette through a hole in his throat.

Others messages point out the dangers of secondhand smoke to children, tobacco's causal link to fatal lung disease, cancer, strokes, heart disease and death.

Amy Winehouse Cancels Tour

TMZ reporting Amy Winehouse is canceling her ENTIRE European tour.

Maybe it was the Serbian fiasco over the weekend, when Amy took the stage and greeted the Belgrade audience by saying, "Hello Athens!" Maybe it was the fact that she was so out of it her backup singers had to step in and sing her songs.

Whatever the reason ... Amy -- who is fresh out of a week in rehab -- wisely 86'd her 12 city Euro-tour.

No Deal Between Dodgers and FOX

Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has rejected a proposed $3 billion television-rights deal between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Fox, effectively negating a post-divorce property agreement reached by owner Frank McCourt and his ex-wife, Jamie.

The announcement set the stage for a potential legal battle between Frank McCourt and the league over control of the team.

Selig said he sent Frank McCourt a letter detailing the reasons for his decision. But he said the proposed deal was "structured to facilitate the further diversion of Dodgers assets for the personal needs of Mr. McCourt."

An attorney for Frank McCourt called Selig's decision "potentially destructive to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Major League Baseball." Steve Susman said McCourt and his attorneys "plan to explore vigorously our options and remedies."

Under the McCourts' settlement deal announced Friday, both sides agreed that Gordon would preside over a one-day trial Aug. 4 to determine if the team belongs exclusively to Frank McCourt or if his ex-wife has a 50-50 ownership under community property.

Crystal Harris Parties Poolside In Vegas Instead Of Getting Married

CrystalHarris,LasVegas,Marriage,Wedding,Hollywood,Actors,Actresses

Despite criticism from some of her Playboy sisters (Holly Madison called Crystal’s play day in Sin City “disgusting” and “tacky”), Crystal was unapologetic about her actions.

“I’m doing okay. I just had to get away. Today is the day and I just had to get away. I’m going back tonight so I just wanted to get away for the day.”

I don’t believe it for a second. If you really just needed to get away, why would you pick a place that is crawling with paparazzi? And then pose for pictures for said paparazzi? I think it was a deliberate play to continue generating as much publicity as possible. Me? Cynical? Naaahhhh…..

Meanwhile, Crystal spoke about her ex-fiance as though he were rather an aged relative whom she’d placed in an old folks’ home:

“I love (Hefner). He is the sweetest person I’ve ever met in my entire life and I’ll always love him and he’ll always be a dear friend and I’ll always visit him all the time.”

First visit: Crystal supposedly stopped by the Playboy Mansion on Monday to return her engagement ring to the Hef. Poor Hef! His tweets about being dumped are so sad, and he seems to be trying not to be a jerk. He has nothing to worry about though – I’m sure there are plenty of other girls just waiting in line to get their hands on his money Hefner’s big heart.

Robbie Williams comforts Joss Stone

Robbie Williams comforts Joss Stone

The Take That star invited the songstress to one of the band’s gig in Cardiff, Wales, on Thursday night after learning about the alleged plot to kidnap her.

Robbie reportedly used his cheeky sense of humour to cheer the stunning star up after her traumatic week.

"Robbie and Joss have been mates for years. He got straight on the phone to see if she was OK and invited her to Wales,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. "She's still in shock but Robbie did his best to put a smile back on her face. His cheeky chappy side was in overdrive when they met up after the gig. She was making light of it too, joking that it's been like an episode of Midsomer Murders."

Kevin Liverpool, 33, and Junior Bradshaw, 30, both from Manchester, England, were charged by Devon and Cornwall Police with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm. The pair were found near the star’s home in a Devon village on Tuesday with a car that contained an arsenal of weapons as well as rope, a sword and a body bag.

They also had aerial pictures and maps of Joss’ property, and were originally arrested as it was thought they were planning to rob her.

Was Amy Winehouse's Belgrade gig really that bad?

Was Amy Winehouse's Belgrade gig really that bad?

Amy Winehouse's gig in Belgrade has been called the worst concert ever to take place in the city. Even Serbian defence minister Dragan Sutanovac put the boot in, calling it "a huge shame and a disappointment".

Audience members have inundated YouTube with clips from the concert showing a sozzled Winehouse leading a startled backing dancer to sing Valerie, taking her shoe off for no apparent reason, and giving up halfway through Just Friends in order to introduce the band – whose names she struggles to remember.

Much has been made of the fact that audience members paid £35 a ticket in a country where the average wage is £274 a month – though that is hardly her fault.

Yet was the gig really that bad? While addiction is clearly no laughing matter, the elements of the gig Winehouse is being pilloried for are praised in other musicians. As music critic Simon Price pointed out on Twitter, when Bob Dylan renders his back catalogue unrecognisable, as he did in London's Finsbury Park at the weekend, people think he's a maverick genius. When Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner stops singing Mardy Bum and lets the crowd take over, people applaud it as a communal moment. When Robbie Williams has a wardrobe malfunction – according to the Sun, his penis fell out onstage in Dublin – it's a laugh rather than a cause for concern.

Winehouse is now typecast as a troubled diva. Yet watching her rendition of Back to Black on YouTube, to my ears it's not even that bad. Sure she sings around the tune, but she's always done that – she's a jazz singer. Her rendition of Just Friends is listless (to put it mildly), but it never had much of a tune in the first place. Though admittedly hindered by booze, the musician in Winehouse is still trying to put a new spin on songs she must be heartily sick of by now. If the people of Belgrade wanted note-perfect versions, perhaps they should have stayed at home and listened to the records.

PIPPA MIDDLETON: POUNDING THE PAVEMENT AGAIN

PIC: Pippa Middleton Completes Grueling 50-Mile Duathlon

Pippa Middleton is pounding the pavement yet again.

On Saturday, the 27-year-old Brit took part in the Highland Cross 2011, a 50 mile duathlon which takes place in the Scottish Highlands.

Arriving by helicopter, Duchess Catherine's little sister completed the 20-mile run and 30-mile bike ride as part of the Affric Brats team. Dressed in all black, the athletic beauty was all smiles by the time she approached the finish line.

Earlier this month, Middleton participated in the GE Blenheim Triathlon at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, England. (At one point, she collided with a topless mystery man!)

As a student at Marlborough and Edinburgh University, Middleton played hockey and tennis and, like her royal sister, continues to work out daily.

The recently single star -- several sources confirm in the new issue of Us Weekly that Middleton recently split with beau of one year Alex Loudon -- is also a Pilates devotee and enjoys skiing, swimming and jogging.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN 2 UNKNOWN DOCUMENTS DISCOVERY

Listen up, interns tasked with endless hours of filing.
Museum intern David Spriegel was organizing a stack of documents last month at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Ill. when he made a shocking discovery.
Spriegel, a college student who had just begun his summer internship, noticed an inscription that read: "The above memorandum is in the inscription of Abraham Lincoln."
Spriegel had just discovered two previously unknown documents that Lincoln wrote in 1844 while the future president was working as a lawyer in Springfield.
"To tell you the truth, I doubted that these documents could really be authentic," Spriegel told the Lake County News-Sun Wednesday, after word had gotten out about his finding. "I figured a discovery like this would have been made by somebody else over the years. I didn't think somebody in their first week on the job would find this."
Experts with the library's Papers of Abraham Lincoln project have since confirmed the authenticity of the documents, as has a curator with the Lincoln Collection,  the newspaper reports. The papers are now catalogued with 5,600 additional Lincoln legal cases; the library will make them available for viewing this fall.
"It really doesn't happen very often," Glenna Schroeder-Lein, a manuscripts librarian and Spriegel's supervisor told the paper as she described her intern's discovery. "I've found some letters to Lincoln, but I've never found letters by Lincoln."

Nokia shows off new strategy at Nokia Connection 2011 in Singapore

Nokia N9Nokia shows its new strategy in action

- Launches three new Series 40 mobile phones with advanced browser and maps

- Pinpoints July as start date for Symbian Anna delivery

- Plans up to 10 new Symbian smartphones over next 12 months

- Unveils Nokia N9 smartphone

- Announces continued support for Qt as part of ‘next billion’ strategy

Singapore – Today, at an event webcast around the world, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop demonstrated how the company is making significant progress on the new strategy it laid out earlier this year. From smartphones to mobile phones, from services to user interface design, and from improved device experiences to developer tools, Nokia outlined concrete actions for growth and taking leadership across the board.

“Earlier this year, we outlined a comprehensive strategy to change our course,” said Stephen Elop, president and CEO of Nokia. “Innovation is at the heart of our strategy, and today we took important steps to demonstrate a new pace of innovation at Nokia. It’s the beginning of a new era for Nokia.”

In mobile phones, Nokia introduced three new affordable devices – the Nokia C2-02, Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06. The portfolio includes dual and single SIM options, and all three models offer a new, advanced web and maps experience for Series 40 phone users, as well as the choice of a touch screen or a keypad.

Nokia also restated its commitment to Symbian. This July, Nokia will start shipping Nokia N8s, E7s, C7s and C6-01s with the new Symbian Anna software update, which includes a number of user experience improvements. By the end of August, existing owners of these devices can also download Symbian Anna. And over the next 12 months Nokia plans to bring up to 10 new Symbian-based smartphones to market.

Nokia also revealed its latest smartphone: the Nokia N9, an all-screen device with three home views and a new user interface navigated through a simple swipe of the finger. The Nokia N9 comes in a polycarbonate design that enables superior antenna performance for better reception, better voice quality and fewer dropped calls; and a smarter all-round experience with NFC for sharing and pairing to accessories. The Nokia N9 will drive new innovation in the consumer experience, and inspire developers to build more powerful Qt applications.

The Qt framework is at the core of Nokia’s existing smartphone product line, and today there are more than 100 million Nokia Qt devices worldwide. Ovi Store consumers are downloading an increasing number of Qt applications, including in high-growth markets like Asia-Pacific. Tapping into this trend, Nokia will make Qt core to building applications that connect the next billion users to the internet. For Qt developers, this will mean a dramatic increase in reach and opportunity during the coming years.

It started as a colorful, creative and artistic parade up State Street, followed by a music and food party in Alameda Park. But Santa Barbara's Summer Solstice festival is now going to be a three day event for the first time.

It starts Friday with an afternoon of music in Alameda Park for those anticipating the Saturday parade which starts at noon. Sunday, there will be art, food and music at the park all afternoon. They will also have a two day children's area, and large art boards for a public mural that local residents can create using brushes and paint provided by the Solstice staff.

Alex Weinstein of Ultimate Bagels, says Solstice is his second biggest day of the year. "The exposure we got as a new business last year was just awesome. It brings in a lot of people from around the Tri-County area, that don't always know we're here."

Many downtown businesses say the Solstice events this weekend will be an economic stimulus they badly need. " And Santa Barbara does a great job promoting these business and promoting these events that in turn bring in people and have people spending money. That's what the economy really needs," said Weinstein.

Ryan O'Neal makes shocking claim about Farrah Fawcett's cancer to Piers Morgan

Ryan O'Neal's interview with Piers Morgan is airing on Monday night, and it may be the most controversial yet in the history of the CNN show. Just how shocking is this? To put it in perspective, Piers himself tweeted that this interview is the most "explosive" and "emotion-charged" show since he started his new gig with the cable news channel.

Specifically, Piers is likely referring to this comment by Ryan when it came to his the death of his longtime love Farrah Fawcett:

"What bothers me the most is that there was turmoil during my love affair with Farrah, a lot of it caused by my family and my kids. All of them, but particularly Tatum. And I just think that if she had never met us, would she still be alive today? Because nobody knows what causes cancer.

"
O'Neal went on to add that Farrah "didn't smoke," "didn't drink," and didn't seem to have any problems at all before he entered Farrah's life -- and he wasn't able to "straighten out the mess" that he was in.

Robbie Williams accidentally flashed 82,300 fans in Dublin

Robbie Williams accidentally flashed his manhood to 82,300 fans.

The Take That star was performing his solo section at the group's concert at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, on Saturday night (18.06.11) when his penis popped out of his trousers during a raunchy routine of 'Rock DJ'.

An onlooker told The Sun newspaper: "It was a pretty wild routine so it's no wonder it fell out. He didn't seem in a hurry to put it away.

"He was definitely up for it. He was going mental, shouting and swearing, trying to get the crowd going before shoving his hands down his trousers. Even though he was like a man possessed, the ladies didn't complain."

This is not the first time Robbie ' who rejoined the group last year, 15 years after quitting to launch a solo career ' has exposed himself.

In 1999, he walked on stage naked during a show in Atlanta, Georgia, and in January he filmed a birthday message for bandmate Gary Barlow's 40th birthday completely nude.

Last week, Robbie ripped his trousers while on stage at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in Wales and yelled at the thrilled crowd: "I'm so excited I've split my keks (British slang for trousers)!"
