Paul Di'Anno, the singer for Iron Maiden from 1978 to 1981, has been jailed for nine months in the UK for fraud.
Di'Anno sang lead vocals on the first two Iron Maiden albums 'Iron Maiden' and 'Killers'. Current singer Bruce Dickinson replaced Di'Anno in September 1981 and sang on their next record 'The Number of the Beast' featuring the world-wide hit 'Run To The Hills'.
52-year old Di'Anno was arrested at Heathrow last year and charged with fraudulent income support claims. He was receiving government benefits for what be claimed was nerve damage but posted videos on YouTube clearing showing that he was not injured.
Iron Maiden fired Di'Anno from the band in 1981 because of alleged drug usage.
