• Evacuate if advised or ordered to do so.


• Listen for the "all clear" announcement before returning to the coastline.


• Leave telephone and communications lines open for emergencies.


• Stay away from the beach and the coastline.

Precautions

• Find out if you live, work, or go to school in an tsunami inundation zone.


• Know your elevation above sea level, as evacuation orders maybe based on these numbers.


• Be familiar with tsunami warning signs (earthquakes and landslides).


• Have a chosen meeting location that is inland and elevated.


• Have an evacuation and disaster kit ready that includes a radio and batteries.
