After months of speculation, The Palace revealed Friday morning that Sarah Burton, the creative director of London fashion house Alexander McQueen, designed Kate Middleton's wedding gown. Burton took over as creative director after the late British designer took his life in Feb. 2010. She'd worked as McQueen's assistant for 14 years, but it's safe to say that with the design of Middleton's dress, Burton has made a name for herself.
Has Sarah Burton emerged as Kate Middleton's favorite designer?
It seems so, since the new princess has picked the creative director of Alexander McQueen to design her dress for the evening reception with Princes Charles, too. This gown has a similar sweetheart neckline as her Westminster Abbey dress, but without the lace overlay. In fact, we wouldn't be surprised if it were the shell of the morning gown. For her dinner, Kate accessorized the ensemble with a diamond waistband and a matching white cardigan.
