JD Law Students - MPRE Studying

Today, I just started studying for the MPRE (Multi-State Professional Responsibility Test). I’m using Themis as an online preparation course while reading the Model Rules and the outline they provide. It seems to be pretty simple so far, but I’m wondering how I will do once I get to the sample exam. I have to score an 80 to meet the Alaska requirements, so wish me luck! I just have to stick to my study schedule and prepare every day for the next 15 days so that I’m not stressed and feel comfortable going into the test room. I just get so nervous taking exams in a setting like this. I think that is why I planned my schedule so that I wouldn’t have too many in-class final exams this year. I’ve just found since starting law school that I’m not good at these exams and stress myself out way too much when I take them. However, if I test by a take home or by writing a substantive paper, I am more likely to excel.

Besides studying for the MPRE, I’ve been keeping up with classes and the student groups I’m involved with. It’s been fun this semester, but I can’t wait until I get a little break over Thanksgiving. On my fall break, I went to Texas to a National Convention for an organization that I am the National Board President of. So I was super busy 24/7 and had little time to relax or even get out of the hotel for a minute. So at Thanksgiving, I’ll be going home and relaxing a little. I haven’t done this my whole time at VLS. However, I’ve usually always done something relaxing on fall break so there will be a trade-off. I can’t believe we’re already half-way through too! It’s flown by! Well back to studying…
