IMTA Countdown - Week Two!

Model Tip of the Week

Are you ready for the Swimwear Competition? Do you have a great swimsuit that flatters your figure? Is your body in top form? The agents want to see fit, healthy bodies so be sure you are working out, eating healthy and in great shape.

Get to it!!! There's still time
to get in better shape!

Talent Tip of the Week

Did you enter the Cold Read Competition? For some talent contestants, this is the Competition that makes them the most nervous. Relax! Your Cold Read does not need to be memorized. You'll need to glance at your script and pick up as much of the line as possible. This will enable you to have eye contact with the professional actor you'll be reading opposite. Show your reactions with your facial expressions as you listen to the other actor read his/her lines.

Actor of the Week

Ready, Set, Hike! Get pumped for this week's IMTA alum, Adrienne Palicki who starred on the hit television series, Friday Night Lights. Adrianne portrayed Tyra Collette, a small town girl that intertwines in the small town drama. The cast has included fellow IMTA alumi, Zach Roerig and Jeremy Sumpter. Adrianne is also currently working a new movie titled Red Dawn!

In 2001, Adrianne competed at IMTA. "It was amazing. I love IMTA! I'm so sad it's over," said Adrianne in an interview with the IMTA Video Crew. Since IMTA, Adrianne has been working on the sets of television shows, major motion pictures and on Broadway!

Sean Harju competed at IMTA in 2006 and was the 1st runner up for Male Model of the Year. He has worked for Dolce & Gabbana, Donatella Versace, Thome Brown, Karl Lagerfeld and Narciso Rodriguez. IMTA Countdown - Week One!

The IMTA Countdown has officially begun! Today and every Friday for the next five weeks counting down to the Convention, That IMTA Blog will feature hints and tips and feature stars who got their start with IMTA to help you make the most of your IMTA Convention experience! We are excited for you to join us in counting down for the Event of a Lifetime together!

Model Tip of the Week
Makeup artists are always emphasizing the importance of "a perfect canvas" for makeup. Do you have a good skin care routine? Find out what products work best for you and use them regularly. The modeling agents at IMTA will want your skin to look beautiful and for you to wear very little makeup.

For great skin care advice, click here or here.

Talent Tip of the Week
Headshots are a black and white or full color shot of your face or ¾ length vertical shot that should look like you. Casting Directors use headshots to choose talent who have the potential to work in their projects. For that reason, it is very important that your headshots look exactly like you -- not glamorized, airbrushed, etc. Therefore, your headshots for the IMTA Theatrical Headshots Competition should be natural and styling should be simple.

Actor of the Week
Our featured Actor of the Week is Zach Roerig, who stars on the television-thriller-series The Vampire Diaries. Zach Roerig performs on the hit show as Matt Donovan, Elena's former boyfriend. He's also known for his roles on Friday Night Lights and One Life to Live. You can watch Zach anytime in The Vampire Diaries on CWTV.com!

Kutcher is currently working on the film New Year's Eve set for release this eyar. Ashton is also the newest addition to the hit comedy series, Two and a Half Men! He signed with a modeling agency and walked the runways for top designers in the fashion industry. He soon was cast as Kelso on That 70's Show. He has become a successful producer (Punk'd, Miss Guided) as well as a Hollywood A-List actor. IMTA Alum Jessica Biel Wows in Guys and Dolls!

Jessica Biel received a standing ovation after her performances this weekend of Guys and Dolls at The Hollywood Bowl! The reviews are in and Jessica played the character of Sarah Brown with confidence and poise!

Jessica Biel amazed all of us at IMTA in 1994 when she sang a charming rendition of The Lullabye of Broadway complete with a top hat and cane! Her beauty, acting potential and singing and dancing abilities caught the attention of the agents, managers and casting directors who attend every IMTA Convention looking for new faces to represent. Jessica gave an exclusive interview to us in 1998 after starring in the hit WB television series 7th Heaven. You can read the entire archived interview here!

Here's an excerpt from that interview:

How has your life changed since you attended the IMTA Convention?
Jessica: I went from amateur to professional actress thanks to my personal manager Diane Hardin and my agent Jeff Morrone who I met at the IMTA Convention.

Would you recommend attending an IMTA Convention to other aspiring young actors and models?
Jessica: Definitely! You will meet people who can change your life and make your dreams come true!

Congratulations to Jessica for being a showstopper in one of America's greatest musicals! If you are interested in showing your talents at IMTA, please visit our official site and fill out the information request form.
