IMTA alum Alissa Czisny just won the US Ladies' Figure Skating Championship! According to the Los Angeles Times, "Czisny, 21, became the oldest first-time champion since Nancy Kerrigan won at 23 in 1993. She and Flatt, 16, earned the two U.S. places at the March world championships in Los Angeles...'People embrace Alissa,' said 1984 Olympic champion Scott Hamilton. 'To have a skater with maturity, presence, choreography and a more refined, defined style is much easier to watch.'''
Alissa competed at IMTA in New York City in 2007. At the convention she won 3rd runner up in Cold Read! She has done some work for MAC cosmetics and was one of four up-and-coming figure skaters featured on the 2006 TLC show Ice Diaries.
