IMTA alum Elijah Wood is producing his first movie which is based on the novel Black Wings Has My Angel written in 1953 by Elliot Chaze. The novel tells the story of an ex-convict who commits a daring armed robbery with the help of a call girl. Although he will not be in the film Elijah has stated that he is thrilled to be involved in bringing this lost classic back to the screen.
Elijah competed at IMTA in 1989 and has been a working actor ever since. He recently wrapped the film, The Oxford Murders about a college professor and a grad student who to try stop a series of murders which seem to linked by mathematical symbols. Elijah started his own record label, Simian Records and signed indie rock bands Apples in Stereo and Heloise and the Savoir Faire. You can catch Elijah in an encore presentation of Everything is Illuminated May 14 on HBO or in Deep Impact May 20 on TBS!!
