IMTA alum Seann William Scott stars in the feature film Southland Tales which opens today in New York and Los Angeles. It will open in wide-release on Friday. Seann plays an L.A. cop in a futuristic tale set in 2008.

The sci-fi thriller stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johsnon, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Janeane Garofalo. It is directed by Richard Kelly, director of Donnie Darko. The film's official website is one of the most elaborate websites ever created for a film and complements the films experience for those that want to delve into it.

Seann competed at IMTA in Los Angeles in 1995. After the convention, Seann relocated to Los Angeles, started auditioning and booking some roles. His break-through role was that of Stifler in the incredibly funny comedy American Pie. Seann's determination, talent and incredible comedic timing have landed roles in some of the funniest movies of all time such as the cult movie Dude Where's my Car? which has him teaming up with a fellow IMTA alum and 1997's Most Sought After Male Model, Ashton Kutcher. He has starred in The Dukes of Hazzard, The Rundown, Bulletproof Monk, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and Trainwreck: My Life as an Idiot. His most recent feature film, Mr. Woodcock was a top ten box office hit!
