Catch IMTA Alumns on the Primetime Emmy Awards!

Don't miss the Primetime Emmy Awards airing this weekend September 16 on Fox. IMTA alums are all over this year's celebration with 17 nominations among their hit shows. The hugely successful IMTA alumns Jerry Ferrara and Eva Longoria have the added honor of acting as a presenters as well as being up for awards themselves. The Emmy Awards celebrate superior work thoughout all the different areas of television. More than 12,000 members of the Academy who are people also working in the industry vote for the category of competition in their arena of expertise and our alums dominated many categories this year.

IMTA alum Jerry Ferrara's runaway success show Entourage received 7 nominations! Jerry starred in the fourth season as the beloved Turtle on the HBO hot series Entourage. Jerry competed at IMTA in 2000. Originally from Brooklyn, Ferrara landed his first role on CBS’ comedy The King of Queens. His television credits include NYPD Blue and Grounded for Life. Upcoming projects include Gardener of Eden, Where God Left His Shoes and he just wrapped the feature film Brooklyn Rules.
Our favorite Desperate Housewife and IMTA alumn Eva Longoria's show was nominated for 6 awards. Eva has been busy with many leading projects since competing at IMTA in 1998. She starred in the films Harsh Times, The Sentinel, and in L.A. Dragnet. Her television roles include guest spots on The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, Beverly Hills, 90210, and The Young and the Restless. Eva has been named one of AOL's "Sexist Primetime TV stars", one of People's "50 Most Beautiful", the "#1 Hottest Woman in the World" by Maxim, voted by Variety as one of the "Ten New Faces to Watch", one of Rolling Stone's "People of the Year," USA Today's "TV's Hot 11" and TV Guide's "New Faces of Fall." She has an exclusive worldwide contract as the face of L'Oreal, is the spokeswoman for both Bebe apparel and Padres Contra El Cancer,which helps Latinos with cancer, and she just shot a PSA for cancer awareness. Adrianne Palicki's series Friday Night Lights received two nominations for Emmys. Adrianne competed at IMTA in New York City in 2003. She was signed by an agent and went on to work in both film and television. Her first feature-film was starring as Judy Robinson in film Lost in Space, and she had a supporting role in the Rob Reiner film Rumor Has It. Her television credits include guest appearances on Smallville, CSI, North Shore and Supernatural. Adrianne is well known for her portrayal of the sassy "Brianna" on the television drama South Beach.

The very popular kid's show Disney's Hannah Montana which stars IMTA alum Moises Arias, as Rico, also got a nod from Emmy. Moises competed at IMTA in 2005 and started working immediately. He has appeared in the feature film Nacho Libre. He guest-starred on television on Everybody Hates Chris, Everybody loves Raymond, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. He just finished filming The Perfect Game about a poor Mexican Baseball team who works together to win the Little League World Championship.


Sofia Vassilieva was discovered at IMTA in New York, where she won the title of Child Actress and first runner-up Child Model Of The Year 2000. She went on to star in many films such as Eloise at the Plaza, The Brady Bunch in the White House, and Day Zero. She has received much attention for her role as Ariel Dubois, one of the lead characters on the hit NBC television show crime-mystery drama Medium which is nominated for an Emmy Award.
