Dominic Janes Honored at the CARE Awards

Last night IMTA alum Dominic Janes was honored with an award at CARE which stands for Child Actor Recognition Event. To win an award the child actors must have worked professionally in 2007, studied acting, be a union member, have an appropriate on line presence, do an art project, kept a 3.0 grade point average in school, have performed community service, and written an essay. Parents are also required to to pass certain requirements. This was fourth annual red carpet event which was held at the Globe Theatre inside Universal Studios in Hollywood.

Dominic competed at IMTA in Los Angeles in 2004 and signed with Rising Talent Management. His first movie role was as Billy Madison in the comedy Wild Hogs with John Travolta. He starred on the hit drama ER for two seasons and appeared in Crossing Jordan. He is currently starring as Jimmy Roberts in a new show called Out of Jimmy's Head which plays on Cartoon Network. This show is a cutting-edge combination of live actors working with cartoons and stars another IMTA alum Jon Kent Etheridge. He has a recurring role on the break out drama Dexter. Dominic portrays the lead character, Dexter, as a child. Check out the Official Dexter Website for more information on Dominic in Dexter or catch him on Cartoon Network in Out of Jimmy's Head.
Congratulations Dominic!
